One more hand.
One more decision.
Afterhours is an independent browser-game project created by Ethan, built around a simple question: what if winning at blackjack was only one part of surviving the night?
Why the debt matters
The game began with a blackjack table and grew into a three-boss run. A traditional hand asks whether to take another card. Afterhours adds a second decision: what to do with the money you keep. Saving, shopping and paying a creditor compete for the same fictional chips.
Bosses are paid from your wallet rather than defeated by a separate damage score. That makes the cost of an upgrade visible. A powerful ability can still be a poor purchase if it leaves you unable to pay.
A late-night atmosphere
The visual direction mixes wavy, early-2000s futurism with a darker casino mood. Cards drift onto the table, bosses have their own silhouettes and colors, and the room reacts to wins and losses. Sound effects are synthesized in the browser. This release contains no third-party music mix.
What this game is—and isn’t
Afterhours is free entertainment. There are no real-money bets, purchased chips, cash prizes or withdrawals. It is not affiliated with a casino or gambling operator. Its boss rules and powers are game mechanics, not a guide to winning money at a real casino.
A project in development
Balance, clarity and controls are still being refined. The update log records implemented changes, and the guide explains the current effects and costs. Bugs can happen; the help page explains how to capture a useful report without sharing your saved game or personal data.
